Together, our school community creates a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

The Bloom Room

The Bloom Room is a safe regulation space where students can explore their needs and access tools to support their physical and emotional well-being, empowering them to develop self-regulation skills.

In the Bloom Room students can notice what their body and feelings are doing, use tools and strategies to help their body and mind, practice skills that help manage their emotions.

The BLOOM Room provides supports for each of the eight senses:

  • Visual (see)
  • Auditory (hear)
  • Tactile (touch)
  • Gustatory (taste)
  • Olfactory (smell)
  • Proprioceptive (position/ movement)
  • Vestibular (balance / spatial orientation)
  • Interoception (internal body signals)

The Bloom Room is a space for students who:

  • Are feelings upset, overwhelmed, or need help to feel calm again.
  • Are learning how to manage their big feelings and practice calming strategies.

Students use a digital check in and check out system. Staff then use this data to understand student regulation needs and supports.
